Maxus Training in Wagrain (Austria):
The shift from combustion engines to e-mobility is not an either-or decision, but a both-and evolution. In the case of the Maxus training, Formation4You supported a session focused on combustion engines – classic, with all-wheel drive, load capacity, and real-world relevance.
Wagrain is not only a popular winter and summer sports destination, but also a recognised pick-up region. In the Pongau area and the province of Salzburg, robust vehicles with large loading space and all-wheel drive are common – they’re work tools and reliable companions. Chalet and lift operators are among the key target group here: people who get things done, often in demanding terrain, and need a vehicle that’s part of their daily routine.
PPP: Pick-ups, Practice and Pongau
That’s why the Sporthotel Wagrain was the perfect location to train on the T60 MAX model – a pick-up with a classic diesel engine that delivers on its promises: power, towing capacity, and stability. Over a 55-kilometre test route, participants experienced the all-wheel drive and versatility of the vehicle in a range of driving conditions – from valley roads to steep slopes.
Learning through experience
Around 40 sales professionals from the Maxus dealer network took part in two consecutive training days. Beyond technical knowledge, the focus was on one key element: understanding the target group and perceiving customer needs.
Together, they analysed who the potential T60 MAX customers are, how they make decisions, and which arguments truly matter. For customers with alpine experience, catchy phrases don’t convince – real benefits do.
A competition with traction
Naturally, such training also included a comparison with other brands – both static (at standstill) and dynamic (on the road). This direct comparison sharpened not only product understanding but also sales awareness.
Two days full of practice, exchange, and genuine insights.
This training showed impressively how to connect theory and everyday life so that learning lasts. We won’t reveal too much – only this: it worked.
One participant summed it up: “After 15 customer contacts, there were 5 test drives and 3 sales. When you have the right arguments for your audience, success comes easily.”
A bridge between two worlds
And yes, even though this time it was about combustion engines – e-mobility is already just around the corner. Transformation doesn’t arise from opposition, but from dialogue. Those who understand what a diesel must deliver also understand better what an electric drive must achieve.
